I thought my dog had caught coonhound prolayisis, he was bit and killed a coon on the ground last friday night. Yesterday morning he was fine. In evening he was weak in the hide in and falling. By morning hes down and cant get up but can move his legs and hold his head up.

vet said tonte he should have no leg reaction if its a tick or coonhound prolayisis. Well he does have great reaction. Im now worried in have no clue what he has. his state seems to have not worsened since this morning. His eating and drinking is normal. seems to be in no pain but wants to get up.

Hes going to vet in morning first thing but cant sit here and do nothing as i watch him lay here on the floor.

If anyone has anything to consider please pm or call or txt me at 1-620-778-5025 thanks Adam Kite

Sorry to hear about your dog. I didn't see your post till now. How is he? Coonhound paralysis usually does keep creeping up till the dog can't move at all but a few don't get quite so bad and a few get bad enough they can't breathe. What did the vet say? If he's got this and you want him to pull through you'll have to really step up and nurse him back to health. Please keep us posted on what happens. Could he maybe have just hurt his back (fell or twisted) so temporary swelling is affecting his spine and interfering with his nerves and movement?
