Last night while hunting. My Bluedog fell out of the back of the truck! Took him to the ER and got x-rays and him bandaged up. He has a fractured pelvis... Nothing horrible they said.. So he's on meds and is resting at my house. The problem is... He's a CRYBABY and goes nuts whenever he moves or i have to move him. This is day 1 so im not expecting him to be running around but, How should i go about getting him outside the NICEST way possible? and Any other insight from Anyone with my experience or one like it. i would be much appreciative!!

When I worked at the vet we used the towel method with dogs that had hip or rear leg injuries. Take a towel and slip it under his stomache, the part right before his groin where it sucks up. Hold the two ends of the towel above him, so he's in a sling of sorts, and slowly walk him while holding those ends so he can't fall. Let him use his hind feet, you're not lifting him off the ground. A broken hip is going to hurt like a mother so I wouldn't expect the dog not to be crying. It's going to hurt but helping him along will take some pressure off. I walk them with the towel until they are comfortable on their own--which could be several days.

Yep, towel sling. The dog isn't being a crybaby. A fractured pelvis HURTS.

I took Him to the vets today to get updated x-rays. Everything seems to be healing fine and surgery isn't nessesary. Thank GOD! A good 8-10 weeks of bed rest, and a lot of sling carrying. I think the hardest part is going to be keeping him on the bed! I do thank those of you who were willing to help me.
