I have a 13 week old Redbone and at 11 weeks I took him to the vet for his monthly check up. At the time he had a small bump, smaller than a dime in diameter on his shoulder. Looked like a possible bug bite. The fur on this one spot was becoming a lighter red then the rest of his coat. I pointed it out to the vet on my visit and he did a skin test for what he called puppy mange. He took a razor and shaved the spot to the skin and said that he had to draw a little blood. He ran the test and it came back negative. And he told me it was nothing to worry about. This Thursday will be 2 weeks since the spot was shaved. I still do not see any hair growing back. Is this normal? Or should I call the vet? Any help or advice is appreciated.
mix a small amount of sulfur sublimed powder with baby oil into a paste and apply for a week or so.. most drug stores dont stock it but will order it for you. about 9 bucks for a big bottle. we used to mix it with burnt motor oil,but the baby oil works just fine. the oil is only to make the sulfur powder into a paste that sticks.
