Thank You Buckshot. That was helpful. But the vet said it wasn't the case.I have taken him to 2 vets. One said it is a food allergy that is causing it.And the other said he found nothing wrong.

No problem............I have seen the Grand mal seizures like you were describing so I it threw it out there as your first post had said the vet didn't know -- and made no mention to anything being ruled out or possible cause.

On a side note, when asking for help on a situation, it's a good idea to PROVIDE ALL DETAILS relating to the problem.

Your first post said 1 vet and didn't know -- Your follow up post after being answered provides details not mentioned in first post - 2 vets with 1 ruling out Grand mal seizures with possible food allergeries the cause and the other not finding anything........that info should be in with the question being asked.

Hello,

I have a 6yr old bluetick male/in-tact. Thanksgiving day he had his first of many more to come grand mal seizures. Called the Doc out to the house, we drew blood and he took it back to the lab and did a lyme test ( which was negative) sent blood work off for more precise testing all levels came back normal except for calcium level which was very low (don't remember exact number) went to the grocerys store and bought calcium vitamins and it cleared up so we figured all was well and could stop the supplement. Now nothing helps with his seizures and they come randomly since thanksgiving he has had 6 seizures i know of. Some lasting a few seconds others lasting a few mins. He is now retired from hunting because of the seizures but will live out his life until it's his time. Good luck with your hound
