my walker female, feet is swelled up looks like my b&t feet thats how big they are and she has lost the hair off to her ankles were the swelling stops but it seems not to be bothering her none, but its got me worried i have changed pens with her and started to give penicillin shot to her anyone else had this to happen and what could it be? and the pen is cleaned out every day its a dirt bottom and she has not had this problem before had her in there over 2 years

hey buddy i bought a bluetick frome a man a while back and gave it to my brother in law ..... she was heavy braggs and vaughn bred ...... her feet started swellin up and she started losing hair ..... then she started losing hair on her back .... her feet swelled so bad they started crackin she lost all her hair and got so bad we had to put her down.... i dont have a clue wat it is ...... and they was only one thing i didnt try ..... get some used motor oil and sulfur and treat it as mange...... dont keep her in a plastic house...... wooden would be better for the dog...... if that dont work i cant help you and im sorry .... good luck

all he did was give a shot and some pills and said thats all he can do..but the hair loss is just on the top of the feet, wandering if she got into something while out hunting? i also being putting fura-zone on her feet this is some great stuff but not helping yet,it has worked on many occasions with injuries in the past with quick results

TRY ANOTHER VET A FRIEND OF MINE TOOK ONE TO A VET GAVE IT A SHOT AND SUM SAVE DIDNT HELP TOOK IT TO ANOTHER AND HE GAVE IT SOME MED IN 3 DAYS IT STARTED TO DRY UP AWEEK WAS HEALED HIS DOG HAD SORE ON ONE LEG .

go to your local feed store and buy a bottle of spray it will look purple-ish blue when sprayed i think its acually for horses but gramps puts it on all my dogs cuts it really works pretty good...... the manager at the feed store should know what im talkin about

sounds like the begining of red mange. hope not. vet time to no avail most likely. try the blue lotion. that is its name. good stuff for raw cuts. I may be full of it. LOL !!! :mrgreen:

the swelling has gone down but her back foot seems to be bothering her a little now just keeping her laid up and its be to hot here anyway,if she dont keep improving in the next few days going to take her to a different vet

may be an allergy too. does she lick at her feet? if you go back to the vet ask for a skin scraping so that they can check for mites. try just washing the feet daily, just use mild soap and water. i would think any type of ointment would help. just remember when applying medication to your dog if you wouldn't put it on yourself don't put it on the dog.
