It has been a little over 2 years (5/05) since my wife was diagnosed with a terminal cancer (Multiple Myeloma). She made it to 40 this year. God has guided us as we have traversed the maze of insurance, doctors, bills, and family stress of raising our 7 YR old son and 9 Yr old daughter.
Wife is in partial remission but it WILL come back as there is no cure and it is not yet a chronic cancer. Average life span when she was diagnosed was 3 YRS.
Anywas, my story I want to share today is that this spring I came across a walker walking down the middle of a county rd while heading home from my second job. Never found the owner and several others had been trying to catch him for weeks so the word was out in the area. He tracks and trees and while not the best voice and despite his heart worms we had to treat him for he loves us and we love him.
Soon after, my main job matched my part-time income so I could quit it so I discovered more time to spend with the family (and my main job-Salary).
I have been taking the kids hunting and teaching them the lessons it encompasses (including our responsibility to "Buddy" which included his heart worm related vet bills
Now my son wants his own coon dog for Christmas. Go Figure
I truly believe God sent Buddy to bless our family with his presence.
Life is too short, keep your priorities straight!
