There was a TV news story about it a while ago or else it was a church doing something about the same. Looked like a good way to get the gospel out to some folks who might have not been in church for a long time. Back in the 1800's lots of folks came to the revival camp meetings just to see what was going on and watch. There weren't so many churches across the wild country then and circuit riders could not reach every holler and ridge where folks lived. Today there's lots of churches but so many folks stay far from them for reasons of their own or to do with the church not being relevant and on fire. The Holy Spirit was at work and thousands came to trust Jesus for their salvation at the camp meetings and its the same Holy Spirit working today. The more that churches can do to find ways to draw folks close the better chance of them hearing the message of grace and hope. Billy Graham crusades and Luis Palau do a great job of reaching out and presenting the gospel but the local church is where folks need to be coming to saving faith and getting anchored in their faith moving from milk to meat and from weak to strong. Jesus still fixes our souls and sets us free from our sin. He also will heal us from diseases and destructive patterns of sin that move on through generations of our families. For me all I need to see in whatever form a church takes is that they worship and proclaim Jesus as Savior and Lord. Change the language to spanish or french, cowboy clothes or skate board getups there's one Lord and Savior. Praise Him singing bluegrass gospel or fire up the electric guitars, drums and trumpets, just praise Him or the rocks and trees will take over and do it. Anyhow, I get all het up sometimes, hope you are following Jesus.
