Oh no, stories like that will have Elijah rolling over in his grave...no...wait a minute...he was taken up on the chariot of fire. Oh of all the rotten things to get on the news and at the season of Lent when serious followers of Jesus are examining their hearts. Those stone boxes may have all the marks and bones may have been kin to each other in them but there's something that is not being said. When Paul had been Saul and was looking for ways to get rid of these Jesus Messiah followers he was not the only pharisee and religous leader looking for a way to discredit Jesus and this bunch we now call Christians. I believe that some of them must have put together a story of Jesus having had a family and wife and living out his days rather than being resurrected. There is some evidence from the gospels that the chief priests started a false story that the disciples stole Jesus' body from the tomb and faked a resurrection. If there was consistent pressure to try to stop this growing movement of believing that Jesus was THE Messiah then what better way to make it seem doubtful than to attack the resurrection. Lots of folks want to keep holding to stories like this DUH Vinci code thing and these other so called gospel letters. Christians back in the years after Jesus died and rose had to constantly work under the attack of religous leaders who wanted to stop this group from spreading. I like what the book of Acts shows in how Paul had been a part of killing and persecuting the Nazarenes, as they called the Christians, but when he was miraculously changed on the way to Damascus he became a target and much of the rest of Acts is about Paul trying to explain and defend his faith and show how it was consistent with being a Jew to accept and follow the true Messiah. Now we have got religous leaders and secularists who want to try to prove that Jesus was "only" a good man. Well, he was a man that's true but He was also God with us and on Easter morning after His body laid cold dead, bled out and beaten, in a tomb wrapped in burial cloth He rose up from there, talked to his followers and stayed for a while to make sure they knew that He really was alive and then He floated up into the clouds. He left them with the Holy Spirit so we would not get defeated and discouraged. I get a kick out of the Acts 1 account that an angel has to come ask them to quit staring up at the clouds and lets them know that someday He would come back in the same way "but guys shut your mouths before the flies land in there and get to work'... LOL ....that's my paraphrase. Anyway, scholars and skeptics, leaders and followers still have to deal with the question of whether Jesus was just a great guy or was he God in a body come here to be our perfect sin sacrifice. I say if he was just a great guy then don't follow anything he taught because he taught that he could forgive sins of folks who had not done anything to him. Either he can do that or he can't, no maybe..middle ground...fence sitting....maybe I'll decide later after I have my fun. Today you decide friend. Crazy nice man??? or God Almighty ready to set you free from your sin and make you brand new to enjoy being with Him forever. He can't be both. I'm going with Him being God who wants me to be clean from sin and live for Him now and forever. Great eternal life plan if you ask me and it started for me already. Anyhow, I hope this is not just preaching to the choir. Willseeyater in heaven I hope.

Willseeyalater it is sickening to see the crud like this that non believers dig up to throw against the Lord... The national news is based on so much the marketing of anything sensational. Are the masses out there really this gullable? One day "every knee will bend and every head shall bow".

The bible says that not one bone was broken on Jesus when he died for all of us.

Not one bone was broken and then he took his whole self, bones and all, up into the clouds when he left the disciples. He did not leave anything that would need a bone box later. I have been hearing a lot about how the names on those boxes are some of the most common names that were used back in those days. If you went into a crowd and started calling for Jesus or Mary or Joseph you would have had lots of people wondering which of them you were calling for. Sort of like looking in the phone book for a James Smith or Mary Johnson or Joseph Williams today. Back then they used names like Jesus the son of the carpenter or Jesus the Nazarene or Mary, the mother of Jesus or Joseph the carpenter from Nazareth. It goes to show that when they gave him the name Jesus like the angel told them to do it was meaningful but not unusual as a name. It did fit though when he fulfilled the meaning of his name and showed that he was the Messiah.
