Stress
Since Hurricane Michael everyone in our area has experienced a high level of stress. Homes, churches, businesses, hospitals and schools have been destroyed or heavily damaged. This has also affected people’s jobs and financial well-being and their ability to provide for their families. I don’t know of one person who has not suffered damages. We live in a world of devastation. Drug use and stealing have been on the rise. We are still living with debris piles along every road and street. We now have flooding also from all the heavy rain in the past couple of weeks.

I took my mother-in-law to a doctor’s appointment last week. Everyone in the waiting lobby sat with their heads down in silence. I began to talk about God and his great mercy. People responded with their own stories from the storm. I began to tell them of God’s love and how He sent people to help me. By the time I left their spirits had been lifted by hearing of His great love.

If you are dealing with stress in your life I encourage you to turn to God.

Proverbs 30:5
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Isaiah 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

God was merciful even through the storm. Many lives were spared through his mercy.

Lamentations 3:22-23
It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

If you think there is no way out of your problems, the Spirit of God can do all things. Just turn to Him. I encourage you to seek the Spirit of God. His word tells us that we shall have power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon us. I can’t stress this enough. We need the Holy Ghost.

Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Psalms 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
