Post subject:  The Mercies of God

I knew a man that said that God would not forgive him for the things that he had done in his lifetime. But God’s mercy covers our sins because his Son, Jesus, gave His life for us. Jesus took our sins to the cross and died that we might live.

In the Old Testament, (II Samuel, Chapter 24) David decided that he would number the people of Israel even though God had said that they should not be numbered. David insisted that it be done even though Joab, the captain of the host asked David why he would want to do that.

At end of nine months and 20 days Joab returned to Jerusalem and gave the number of the people to David. David’s heart smote him and he realized that he had sinned greatly and had acted very foolishly. He asked God to take away his sin.

God sent the prophet Gad to David. God offered 3 things that David could choose. He could choose 7 years of famine, fleeing 3 months from his enemies or 3 days of pestilence in the land. David chose to fall into the hand of the Lord because His mercies are great, he did not want to fall into the hand of man who many times shows no mercy.

God sent a pestilence on Israel from the morning to the appointed time. But when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the Lord said it is enough, stay now thine hand. David bought the thresingfloor and oxen and built an altar unto the Lord and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the Lord was entreated for the land, and the plague was stopped.

Today, we don’t have to make a sacrifice of oxen because Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for us. He gave his life for us. He was the pure unblemished Lamb of God who took away our sins.

If you feel that you have done something that is unforgiveable, don’t be fooled by Satan. God will forgive no matter if you are bound with drugs or alcohol or any other demo spirits.

Daniel 9:9
To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;

Psalms 103:4
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

Psalms 118:2
Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth forever.

Just call on God and He will show mercy to you.
