Do you all have one hymn or a few that are always in your mind? If you do are you humming or singing it when you drive or hunt? I do but mostly when I am alone, not everyone likes my voice. LOL

Lately I have had one and I can't remember the title but it goes "The Lord's my rock in Him I stand, a shelter in the time of storm......Oh Jesus is a rock in a weary land, a weary land, a weary land...a shelter in the time of storm". I got a lot of songs stuck in my brain from way back as a kid listening to singing in church and some of those old songs as well as lots of the new ones help me through the day. I especially like the ones that are pulled right out of the Bible. Wesley hymns, Fannie Crosby and some of the classic hymn writers.

How about you? I don't want to start a hymns versus chorus fight but do you get strength from songs about your faith? Tell us about that.

Amazing grace is my number one.But there is a song I don't know all the words to and I think it's from the 40's which is only a funny song. All I know is, I don't care if it rain or freezes as long as I got my plastic Jesus riding on the dash board of my car.

My two all time favorites in the Heavenly Highways Hymns are "I want to know more about my Lord" and the other one gets the tears going every time, "I bowed on my knees and cried, Holy".

We sang "Old Rugged Cross" on Sunday morning and "It Is Well With My Soul". We had picked "It Is Well" for our baby girl's funeral ten years ago and it still brings the tears right out when we sing it. I got to the point years ago to just let them roll and wipe up later. If God let's us feel pain I think sometimes it helps me to know what He feels for those who are lost in sin and apart from knowing Him.

wow i love so many!
leaning on the everlasting arms, what a friend we have in Jesus, God will take care of you, farther along, He is so precious to me

the solid rock "My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame but wholly lean on Jesus' name. On Christ the solid rock stand ALL OTHER GROUND is sinking sand!"

Some excellent lyrics in those Jeeppro.

I have had some deep times with Jesus in the songs "How Deep the Father's Love For Us" and "In Christ Alone" both by Stuart Townend from over in the UK. The simple words remind me of how all my sins were taken onto my Savior's head because He and the Father wanted me and you to have a way to know eternal life in God's presence. I imagine these will be ones that will last a while, anyone else's church using his songs?
