I run a lot of different game with all of my dogs. I like to start all of my young stuff on coon. This allows me to insure the treeing instinct is up to snuff and I think it gives the young dogs a lot of good experience as to figuring out problems and obstacles such as crossing water, fences etc. If they don't make it in the coon woods then they don't stay in the program. If they show well on coon then they get put on all the other stuff. I firmly believe that life is way too short to limit my hunting to just one or even two types of game. I run coon, Bobcat, Lion, bear and coyotes with all of my dogs. Sometimes we catch and sometimes we just waste gas LOL.
