My neighbors has 2 very old beagle dogs, They walk em everyday out the road and I feel bad for em. I also had a few beagles that live a good ways past there primes.

I don't know what to say. I hear that the smaller the dog the longer they live. One of the foundation females in my bluetick line lived well past 16 years and she was hunted a lot so I hear. I would have to go with a small breed of some kind?

i got a twelve year old blue tick and she is still in VERY good shape. Especially for her age. She still gets hunted often and if it wasn't for her red being faded to grey you'd never know she was 12.

I guess it mostly depends on what you hunt, if at all. I have a 13 yo pitbull that can run neck and neck with the hounds although he pays for it the next day. Australian Cattle Dogs live the longest. One in the Guiness Book was 29yrs and 4 mos.

I agree, I knew someone that had a 23yo choc. lab. The dog was blind, deaf and rail thin no matter how much or what it ate. They took better care of it than most ppl do their kids.
