depending on time of year and how coon are moving ive treed coon all times of the day. not saying i havent had a lot of drops without anything but the times when it pays off is awesome. some of the best pup training ive had was when sun is up. anyone that hasnt tried it is missing out.

I've hunted in the mornings many times the last 50 years..My favorite time of year to do this is spring and summer..Generally get pretty good runs, about 50/50 dens and outside..Certainly a lot easier for an old tired coon hunter to get around like me.
I was wondering if some of y'all hunt in the morning? And if u do then what time do you go? Sometimes the morning is the only time I can go and I hear people talk about it so I wanna try it
and old man I used to coon hunt with told me years ago you will tree more coons from midnight to daylight.and is a lot better hunting than dusk to midnight I have treed a lot of coons after midnight. if you talk to a lot of deer hunters I'm sure they will tell you they have seen a lot of coons sitting in their stand wondering by at the break of day.
This past summer I decided to give it a try. I would turn out about an hour before daylight. Sometimes I did good, sometimes not. As far as success rate goes, it was about the same as hunting nights. I would highly recommend trying it. Treed several coon at 9:00 a.m. Enjoyed being able to see what was going on, and watching the dogs work.
