do you think its right for someone knowingly registering a dog in any of the kennel clubs as a pure bred, when they know the dog is a crossbred?

I'll say I really don't like the new rule in PKC either on the crossbreed breeding thing either where if you have a cross breed and then breed it back two generations to one side of it you can register it full again I think is a load of bull. Sp if I have a half breed Bluetick walker dog and I breed it to a bluetick then that pup to a bluetick I now have a fully registered bluetick again. It is not like thier are not plenty of full blooded pups out there that people have done hard work to get and keep Then it can be clutered up by this stuff and can ruin the whole breed in my opinion

Steve you are exactly right! We all know that traits(color, looks) can show up waaaaayy past 2 or 3 generations. I know of a bluetick around here(is a heckofadog but) his sire was a bluetick, and his dam was out of a yadkin tar rattler male and a bluetick female. He is a registered Bluetick in UKC & PKC Now if u see "Yadkin Tar Rattler" in a blue's 3 gen pedigree and still register them as a 'PR' bluedog, thats stupid. The hound is a GRNTCH and a fine dog, but NOT a purebred. If this goes on, whats the use in having registered dogs????????
He is a light ticked dog, with a red head!!! Sounds more like English to me!!!!!!

whether its right or wrong, the regestries have put it out there to do so. do you all agree with every law passed by congress? no,me niether. do we still follow the laws? yes,and i do to. i happen to like the crossbred hounds and i'm glad the PKC opened up to it. nobody is telling you to buy one. if you prefer to stick with a purebred,so be it. like i have stated before,ALL your hounds at one time were crossbred!!

I was not talkin about bein up front and doin it by whatever rules allow it. I was thinkin more of the guys who slip a little different color in the ole wood pile and falsify papers. A little hybrid vigor can be helpfull sometimes. I know of some red setter breeders who have for the sake of the breed had to outcross to english setters and then breed back several generations to be sanctioned as red again. This is done up front and honest. Good for them. But please don't lie on papers and undo a reputable breeders hard work and dedication on the sly. Believe me I have absolutely nothing against a good crossbred hound. I could spend the next month tellin you all about some world stoppers. Most of the hounds around my neck of the woods are all mixed up breeding and dang sure game catchin machines. I do however choose to go with a "line bred" family of dogs and get real enjoyement out of the history and characteristics you get from that type of program. To each his or her own for sure but just don't do it on the sly. That is still lying in my book.

that is my blue(english)-walker mix. i dont hide the fact she is crossbred. if people ask what her breeding is,i tell them. they always say she looks CLOVER bred. well, her bottom side is blue on top,and CLOVER bred on bottom. her top side she is directly out of OLE SOUTHS STYLISH REBEL. her mom is HALF BRED JESSI. not a bad looking crossbred?
