Thats a pretty good question. I remember I called on a bird dog for sale once. I asked the guy why he was sellin the dog. He told me, because He is my least favorite dog and I need the money! I bought the dog and found the guy to be one of the most honest guy's I have ever dealt with. Everything he told me about the dog was true. Pretty good dog as well. He died of old age in my kennels.

How about "Got a man coming from(insert any state name other than the one you're in) coming to get him this weekend".But "Needs a few coon shot out to him" or "just needs to be hunted" are good ones.

the truth is a lot of the dogs will come around with woods time and fir in their mouth and its easy to end up with too many dogs but my favorite line comes from an old dog trader and a friend "I got that dog from a man that has sold me a lot of dogs and I never knowed him to lie to me" well this old guy probably hadnt been in the woods for 20 years. 35 years ago when I was just getting started Id trade dogs about every week or 2 with one of the many dog traders in the area and boot em 10 or 15 dollars. but the thing is a man willing to pay a fair price for a coon dog isn't going to get took by a dog trader cause they won't buy one off the chain unless they know what they're doing, its the guy trying to get something for nothing they forget the number one rule, IF SOMETHING SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT PROBABLY IS
