i need a very detailed description about nite hunts and bench shows , i do know the basics of water races, water races are what i really want to get into though, but i do need a little more detailed description on them too, they are all things i'm interested in doing but i hhave no clue about the general basics and rules for them, my dog is registered with UKC so, and do you know when these competions go on in VA, so i can atleast see what its like , thanks

The best way to learn all that is to actually go a event & watch the bench shows & go as somebody's spectator during a hunt. If you go to one, ask the master of hounds for a scorecard because the UKC nite hunt rules are on the back of the scorecard. When your out just pleasure hunting, practice calling your dog & stuff to kinda get the hang of it.

thanks y'all, that helps, espically for the link for the UKC site, i looked at the site before but could find it, and trust me, i will try to go to a nite hunt watch and look around and get a feel for it

if you want to see a bench show/water race go to the VA. state water race on june 23rd i think it is in clifton forge...ukcdogs.com on how to get there...they are havein a bench show and water race and are suppose to have a nice size crowd i would be there but goin to the beach!!!

oh ok, thanks, i'll see if i cant go, i'm sure my mom will take me, shes the one that wants me to do this stuff so that my dog has a few titles when it comes time to breed her, the water races look so fun, my redbone can out swim the nieghbors lab, now thats a fast swimer!
