your welcome mr.wish. ballingbluetick soured corn smells pretty strong and i figure the stronger the smell the better chance for a coon to find it. ive never had deer or squirrels mess with soured corn, but dry corn they will.

I'VE NEVER SEEN SQUIRRELS EAT SOURED CORN TILL THIS YEAR!!! WE HAVE NO MASH AT ALL THIS YEAR

HA! That's hilarious. I've wondered if the coons and squirrels or whatever got a " buzz off that corn"

When I was using a feeder I liked just a plane jane 5 gallon bucket with a few holes drilled in the bottom to help drain the water. Filled it up with corn and dog food and wired on a limb sticking out of the main trunk or just wired under a limb say 2" to 3" in dia. Just high off the ground to keep the cows from messing with it. I used this a lot back in 2011 when it was so hot and dry here in Tx. Seemed like every critter needed a little help. Seen coons, possums, squirrels and birds on the feeder. I set 3 of these out. Kept some of the critters around through the hot summer, but we still lost a lot of game. It was just too hot and dry.

How much of the sour corn and dog food do they usually eat? I've had both out and had to fill em after a week but wondered how often do y'all have to fill yours. And is the dog food good for the sows when they have kits and does it make them have more? And would it help to put some swine wormer in the sour corn? Would it help the population?

Take a car tire with the rim still in it and drill six two inch holes in it and fill it with corn and you got yourself a great coon feeder! You can put some coon potion in it for extra attraction, i found that it works very well or just throw some peanut butter in there or some coon lure, just to attract them and get them coming back for more, instead of wasting a lot of money for coon potion.
