25th of April I took the morning off to go into the local grade school. I gave a seminar on hound hunting. Talked to them about the different breeds of hounds, the key roll that hound men play in wildlife management, and briefly talked about our heritage . I answered questions ranging from breeding practices ,what types of game we hunt, to the differences in pleasure hunting and Competition hunting. The kids fell in love with Duce. It sure helps when both your boys classes are there. Anyway it gave the younger people a better prospective and in site of our heritage. All the younger grades lined up to pet Duce it was a great experience for me. Bottom line I try to teach the next generation, so our heritage will continue.
I have a kid in the next town that I met on the shad tree forum that needs help training his pup so he will be going hunting with me on the weekends after my trip to Utah bear hunting.
I would like to here about any other training of the next generation.
Thanks to everyone that takes a kid with them!!!!!!!!!!
