 Post subject: female and strays

it has benn a bad week last sat my male dog got his pad torn when a 14 ft log fell on it and my female is in heat so no huntin with them now a question how do u keep strays and naboring males away beside shotin them or havein a big fight i have a female that is locked and chained up in a kennel with my male that is out of distence of her on chain i aint worried about him breedin her i also have a mute female that has been fixed and she wont let another dog within a 100 yrds of the house btu male dogs are startin to show up and i cant be home all the time so i now fights will happen i let my male loose to run and he and my mute whent chargin after a german lookin mute male about ten minutes later they chased him and snapped his butt a little before i got their attention back

personally, my 30-30 or .270 does the trick, but the next best thing i guess, call animal control. one of my buddies weiner dog or something was gettin out and making the rounds and the animal control officer told him if he didnt lock his dog up, that the dog would be "disposed of". hope this helped some.
