Get yourself a good coonhound. My Bluetick is a great rabbit and game bird dog. a good dog can be trained for nearly anything.

i have raised both and not just average dogs, the parents to mine were #1 and #2 in the state and mine were just as good or better, wish i still had them....beagles are running dogs, not tree dogs...most will naturally figure out how to rabbit but some but still need training to be really good...

coonhounds run and tree...people hunt everything with them...from deer, coon, squirrel, possum, anything that will tree or run...which includes rabbit..

only thing to be careful of is the speed, a hound is fast so when the rabbit runs out, be careful not to shoot the hound that's right on its tail...beagles are used because they are slower and u can shoot the rabbit without fear of the dogs being right there and possibly getting shot...

both are great dogs...but to get both use a coonhound...

Kevin
