I know for sure that it wasn't a horse. The guy that owns the land doesn't have any livestock or anything like that one the land. Bigbend no my dog won't bite unless I tell him to. Even then he knows not to bite a human hard or he would get into trouble.

i had the same thing happen here what you heard was a bear we snuck up on one a week ago and it made a sound like wooossshhhhhh that mite of been what it was

I've had this happen to me, except wasn't hunting. One night I woke up and took out my house dog and I walked out to make sure he wasn't gonna run off and I heard the same "grunt." I silently walked inside and flicked on the porch light and walked back out. It was a doe standing under the cherry tree.
