The short stick works best. I use a mop or broom handle myself it works great. Just remember to secure the chain with a swivel device so it doesn’t knot up on you.

Use a burlap sack and let the coon go in then use strarting fluid that has ether,spray the starting fluid in the bag to knock the coon out ,then put the collar on the coon. Make sure you have everything organized so you can work fast before the coon "wakes up".

I've seen others on here talk about using a similar method. They didn't mention any missing fingers but they did say you have to work real fast.

after all i have read, i think i will just stick to a roll cage, lol....after all sometimes i have a hard time getting them in there...needless to say i couldnt imagine getting one in a burlap sack and grabbing him and all that.....

i'm probably goin to do this whith the next coon i get... liesh them and then take them out for any training the dogs need...
