Is anybody else having a hard time treeing coon in ny. I have been geting alot of slick trees or den trees. Just wondering if anybody else is having the same probalam. Some of the den trees hes not even running just there and treeing. So i was wondering if the sows are having there kittens yet or not. This is in new york. Any advice would be helpfule

thank you
chris

this time of year the most sows are stayin close to the dens alot and not venturing out very far due to having kits in belly or den and the bore coons are running like crazy and tapping every tree they can along the way that could explain alot, atleast thats my opinion

It very well could be the hound that im walking behind. But im not just the only one having the same problame. I was kinda leaning tords the sows not moving much. I am trying again tonight i will have to see what happens. I also heard on bright light nights they dont run to good either.

COONS TAPPING TREES CAN REALLY THROW OFF A YOUNG OR UNSOLID DOG THEY HAVE A TRAIL AND THEY HAVE A SCENT LEADING UP A TREE SO THEY THINK THE JOBS DONE BUT IT DOES MAKE FOR A LOT OF UNEVENTFUL WALKING, BUT THEY WILL GET HER FIGURED OUT WITH TIME AND ON BRIGHT NIGHTS I HAVE FOUND THAT IT IS A LONG RUN AND ALOT MORE WALKING ON BRIGHT NIGHTS VERSES DARK NIGHTS WHERE THEY STILL HAVE THE ELEMENT OF SUPRISE AND QUICK TREE
