Steve Fielder, Director of AKC Coonhound Events will undergo heart bypass surgery Thursday afternoon, 04/13/06. This stemmed from Steve experiencing chest pains during a hunt this past Saturday night. He had asked others to round up his hound while he returned to his truck to rest. After resting and not feeling better, he decided to call an ambulance that picked him up on site. Following several tests on Monday it was determined Steve has some blockages which will need to be repaired.

Steve wants you to know he appreciates and thanks everyone for their well wishes and continued prayers. We will keep you updated to his recovery after surgery. In the meantime, please keep Steve and Carol Fielder in your thoughts and prayers.

I have been getting several requests for an address from folks wanting to send cards to Steve.

Great news!!!

Following Steve's surgery on Thursday he has been recovering very well and appreciates all of your thoughts and prayers. The doctors are very happy with his progress so far and allowed him to go home yesterday (Monday), where he'll be recovering for about seven weeks or so. Steve can take no phone calls as of yet, so please wait for awhile to talk with him personally. Many friends have asked where to send cards and/or flowers. You can send these items to the office and we will make sure they get to Steve ASAP.
