I know about it. Nobody pays any attention to it though. It's nothing I worry about it. Some of the light companies used to sell hardhats with little bulbs on the top just for that reason. I haven't seen any advertised for a long time though.

Dont worry about it...Back when we used to hunt in Ohio a lot. They said the same thing..Its the Law but almost nobody does do it anymore..I never heard of anybody every getting fined because of that law...........I talked to a C.O. At Darbydale a few times years ago .When they fist came out with the law..He said just to go hunting not to worry about it......I dont even think they sell the little white lights anymore..They had them on top of the light head also....I hunted a couple of hunts. At greenville Last year nobody had them.....In Indiana you have to have your light on all the time...Nobody does that either......LOL

I hunted back around Thanksgiving when I was on leave with a long time coon hunter and owner of Riverside Dog Supply. I asked him about getting me a light for my hard hat and he said that law was out dated, around the 90's they stopped rigging the bump hats with them. You just need a walking light or leave your head lamp on. I know the law was formed around 1985-86 time frame, and I think the intent was to distinguish between coon hunters and deer poachers. I could be wrong but that was the rumor when I was growing up. Like I said I thought you still needed it, until I was told something different.
