usually here its "yep, he runs and trees his own coon and NEVER runs trash " next time they turn him loose, he strikes first.......on a possum or deer .

Um, you didn't put up "other" as a choice . How about they are doing everything but skinning the coon out for you by the time they're 3 months old!

I've never personally lied about a dog, but a few dogs have made a liar out of me. Never say that a dog never does somethin', that's right when he'll do it. Kids and dogs make liars out of all of us. My favorite is "just needs a few more coon knocked out and he'll be fine". This was told to me abut a 5 YEAR OLD HOUND.Gotta love it.

Now come on folks, whats the sense in fishin, huntin or goin to the barber shop if you can't tell a fib or two? I just try not to be the first liar because he doesn't stand a chance LOL. I voted Never seen him do that before... but I think my favorite is just needs a few more coon. I think that translates into I'm too dang lazy to hunt this dog and I have no idea what he needs or will do.

this was my favorite lie of all. drew out for a hunt and we're sitting at the table waiting to leave. a member of the casts starts in, "i sure hate it for you boys drawin out with ol' radar. he's hands down the best coondog in these parts, for sure. he's cold nosed, fast track, lay up specialist, and the hardest loudest tree dog around." this goes on for 10 minutes. then all the way down the road the same. finally as the judge is about to say turn em' loose i hear, "oh yea, every once in awhile he'll bump a fox". well the next two hours it was fox race, deer race, dog fight.........ect.

I've seen people say that a big tree with no visible hole is a den tree. Their like yeah... He's up there... in a hole somewhere. But i voted for I've never seen him do anything like that before.

a buddy of mine was on a hunt with his 14 year old nephew as a spectator. one guys dog trees slick but of course the guy sees it by shining from across the river. they all waided the river to look at a knot. at the truck the guy says "yep the tree was slick but you can't blame me for tryin' ". how's that for lyin.

this old guy really wasn`t a liar, but he liked to tell a good story and stretch the truth. He was always getting 50lbs coons, then he started carrying a scale, he hasn`t got one over 28lbs since, but that is a big coon for around here.

I bought a Plott pup at the Grand American, trained him myself, only hunted with close friends. When the dog was 18 months old, I put him in his 1st hunt.Needless to say it was me and 3 walkers.I got 1st strike and one of the other guys looked at the judge and said "Judge, I'm familiar with that plott, and I know he's babbling"then he struck his dog in in the same breath.I think "just needs a few more shot out to him" is probably the most told lie, but I HAVE seen it proven true as well.

Some more of the big uns-"I'd NEVER turn MY dog loose over a feeder bucket" or "Let's hunt your best spot- I won't go back there without you".Which leads to" I don't know why all those people are hunting your spot-I sure didn't take anybody in there".Or "yeah, he's registered, just buy him and I'll find the papers and send them to you". "This is a FORD! that mudhole's nothing for THIS truck!" And last but CERTAINLY not least, "You just be here at dark.I'm going hunting and I don't care WHAT she says!" I hunt alone ALOT over that one.
