thanks for your help with my earlier post.
so, if all the coon hound types are ok, will a plott hound be ok for coon hunting, provided it's a good dog to begin with.?
i see that most people hunt with walkers. that's ok with me but for some reason, i like plotts. can i expect a plott to be a good coon dog too? i know that they are favored for bear hunting but that doesn't mean they won't be good on coon, does it?

Plotts make excellent coon dogs. Longears made it to the UKC World hunt last year with a plott. Mulerider has GR. NT. CH. plott coon dogs. There are many more out there. Look in the photo forum for my name and Gene Cooper, We both have plotts for coon hunting.

You bet a Plott'll make ya a good coondawg! but i would recommend researching a strain first before ya get a pup or young started dog... they are smart, have a heck of a nose and brains to boot, and are gritty as heck...Donnie Goodman is in first place in the Purina race with his male plott, ICE, this year....hope ya find a keeper! and update us if ya do! I have a post on the gallery too, its under future dual purpose plott...

Plotts make great coon dogs. I agree with all of the above posts and advice.

Go over and talk to the guys on Plottdogs.com. There are several guys on there that can point you in the right direction on anything from bloodlines to training. They live and breath plotts over there.
