My redbone is whati would call a medium red. However she has alight white or blonde blaze on her neck and front shoulders. I know that this is the case with alota redbones, but would it hurt her in a bench show as fae as the judges are concerned?
Here is what the UKC breed standard for Redbones states:
"Solid red perferred, small amount of white on brisket (chest) and feet is unobjectionable." So I dont know if your dog meets breed standards. It will probably just depend on what kind of judge you get. Ive never heard of a blonde or white blaze, but I have seen a lot of the really rich colored redbones with a blackish tint on their backs. Is it really noticable? If it isnt that prominent, you may have nothing to worry about. Well, hope this helped ya out some, good luck with showing your dog.

It sounds like your red has too much white to be shown. Only a small amount is allowed on the chest and feet. In my opinion, near to none at all.
Can you post a picture?

look at the post hey ltlsad, that is my red girl the first pic shows it the best if you look at her neck and shoulder it almost looks like a really light red or blonde tel me what u think.
Do you keep her on a chain? I do not see where there is a marking on her at all. No white. As far as a discoloration, dogs can get that from being on a chain w/ a collar rubbing.
Don't know if you are still looking for an answer, but my Redbone is very dark red but has a very bright white spot on her chest. It is about the size of I'd say 5" X 4". Anyway, at her 1st show the judge said it was a little to much white, more than he liked, but it wasn't why she lost best of show. So in short it wasn't necessarily counted against her but if there had been another of equal quality with no white she probably would have lost.
