A buddy of mine got a really good bluetick female and we went out last night and my dog ran right there with her but never did let loose on the track only at the tree. Should that be of concern?

It is fairly common for younger hounds to be tight mouthed, or even completely silent on track when they first get started. Once they get hunted a little more, they usually start opening better on track. My 2 year old male was nearly completely silent on track for several months, but gradually started opening up better. Just keep hunting your dog- you are on the right track
