I got a buddy one in a lifetime he decided to hang up his leash and his light today old legs are hurting and knees replaced but then I look around got one with one leg over seventy it's hard not to take them both knowing any min my life could end no number days just life but realize older I get how precious life is and to hunt with my 5 year old son still blinding me cause I taught him to look a man in the face when speaking to him what we enjoy about the race of old and young hounds alike to drive us to this insane love and when our time has come we can't give it up even if it hurts us such precious memories to pass on to others while we here on earth also sad memories of those hanging up lights and leashes too my buddy will always be in my heart as I hunt on listing to hounds we have trained together

Its a sad day when you have to hang up the leash. Hopefully it will just turn out to be a break. Get to the clubs so the younger guys can still learn from him. Who knows maybe that will get him back in the game.

Hook him up with a garmin and ask him to go along with you. He can still watch the dogs from the truck and listen to the hounds . He might enjoy if he don't feel he gotta go to a tree.

I hunt with an old man, I believe he is 86 now. He cant walk too well, but If the dogs tree within 200yds he will still walk in. He trips about once each night, but still keeps going! He still has his own dog, too.
I agree with GC Blues... still keep the old guys involved, because once it is in your blood, it never goes away!
