I'm interested in hunting with black and tans and want to learn a few things from those of you that have them. Id like to know everything from pup training to hunting, do's and dont's, tips with the dogs, good and bad experiences with the dogs and stuff like that. Pictures would be breat too. Thank you.

Isn't the better question why own B&T's? Just kidding I've got red dogs so I had to poke a little fun. Good luck I'm sure whatever breed you run you'll have fun.

If you are interested in Black and Tans you should try to attend Black and Tan Days in Flora Illinois May 5,6,7.Most all breeders and hunters attend this event.
Facebook has some sites available to interact with others about black and tans.
The American Black and Tan Association has a site on facebook.
I have had black dogs for the last 40 years along with other breeds.

Some hunt the first breed they were intruduced to, others shop around, some just want to be differant.
Just make sure what ever you hunt suits you, your feeding it!!!
Reasons, I hunt B/T's is, they are for the most part consistant, learn and pay attention to what you exspect from them, and they have a good handle on em. Mine can be treed across the river and I can call her to me. My oppinion only.
