Found this photo of my great grampa I've heard stories this dog would tree coon at night, squirrel by day, and it would even run rabbits. They said it was a heck of a dog. Have no idea if they're any truth to that, especially the rabbit thing but I didn't question the people telling me. Thing is I didn't know anybody else in my family hunted much, other than that my grampa had few hounds time to time. My dad doesn't hunt guess it skipped a generation..lol

Yea I'm sure life was simpler back then, not easier, a lot harder work but more simple. He had 9 kids before he died and he died in his late 30's. He cut his leg clearing a thicket with an axe and it set up gangrene and he died young

I'm not sure when but I'm thinking he died in late 1930's or early 40's so I imagine in that time frame..I'm gonna try and find out tho

Great pic. You can bet one thing if an old hound,cur or what ever went hunting and showed you a bunch of M-T trees he didn't stay on the farm long.
