I'm gone take it that u r a die hard comp hunter and no longer hunt to hear the dogs run the coon when u have a big mouth dog cause I tell u before I wouldn't turn my boy loose to comp hunt till he had been a pleasure hunter first u can't b in it for money and titles u gotta love it cause the crap we do is exactly that crap but I don't think u should get points in a hunt cause ur dog is just runnin her mouth strait off the chain but like I said I ain't ever been in a comp hunt just watched one and I'd rather go back to my truck if my dog was scratched for not talkin on the track cause the reason the judge would scratch u is cause tht tight mouth dog is gone b faster and b more accurate
the question was not about tight mouth dogs it was about dogs that are still mouth [silent on track]. tight mouth dogs open on track they are just reserved on how much they open. there is nothing wrong with still mouth dogs. the problem is dishonest handlers cheating someone else out of there strike points. comp. hunting is not meet hunting. ya I've seen it strike and tree my dog at the tree fact is most the time their there stuck in first second or third strike and dog has never made a wimper on the track. lets be honest no bias how many still mouth dogs you been casted out with and didn't know till after the hunt and the truth come out. and mystery strike my dog no that's my dog problem come to light

The rule says CONSISTENTLY SILENT. Dont think I've ever hunted with a dog that only treed and nothing else. Hard to imagine a dog chopping and or brawl on tree and CONSISTENTLY stays completely silent!! Guess because I'm more prone toward the competition style dog is why its hard to believe but ain't saying they ain't out there.

Silent track dogs shouldn't be bred and shouldnt be winning in the hunts, babbling dogs shouldn't be bred or win in the hunts. Both are not breeding material, now wether a hunter prefers open bawl mouthed or tight mouthed that's just personal preference.
