Hey yall new here from tn name is Randy, found this while looking fer coon hunting supplies. I started cooning with my dad in the 70's run redbones loved them. My dog died when I was 18 an went a few years didn't hunt any, got way to attached to jack. Then in the 90's started back with curs tried every way possible not get emotionally attached to them. Then along came a blond named Dan lord he took my heart got him in spring of 99 hard headed lord. But fast learner, hew was good dog killed piles of squirrels from him and was a dern good coon dog to. I lost him in 07 to what I consider "in my opinion the worst thing state of tn ever did reintroduction of bears " that dog rather run a bear than eat. Was out on Nov 7 of 07 I new what he struck when he opened up only thing he would ever bark at when he was running, he treed few min later started to him, I guess bear came down I never no, when I got to the place I thought he was in could hear him whining he was cut up bad. Died on the spot. I no I shouldn't but I have no use fer them. Well now it's 2014 an startingover again got 2 Redbone pups they be 9 weeks old thr. I guess coming full circle. Thank yall fer this Site. I love it.

Welcome to site. I started with a buddy who has curs a few years ago. Still hunt with him and his curs but am training a Redbone of my own finally. I know what you mean about getting too attached. Good luck training and hunting. Share your experiences with us newbies too.
