Welcome Aboard. I'm 63 and coon hunting fer' awhile now. Think I was 6 first time I tried to tote the coon outa' woods behind my grandpa. LOL Never get's old. Hope the new hound works out. Good Hound, Good Hunting. If you run into problems just post em' here. Helping out the beginners is what we enjoy the most about this and other sites. ( This one the best I've found ) Anyway, glad to have you and Good Luck!

Hi scooter hope you and your family enjoy your new hound and the many nights in the woods to come. I raised two girls they were hardcore coon and squirrel hunters. The best time of my life . Enjoy ever min. it only comes buy once.

The most important thing about coonhunting..It has to be fun....If its not most guys quit after a yr or two..I tell everybody just starting out to read everything they can about coonhunting and how to train a dog..I like the Walk With Wick books..You will learn more from reading them than most guys learn from a lifetime of hunting..
