kind of like an old rule of thumb of mine. don't buy a used ford from a chevy dealer or vise-versa. if the trader is changing brands there's likely something he did not like about the brand being traded in.

So I have a question to add in here. I bought a pup and was driving from Michigan to Ohio to pick it up. The guy didn't have parents on site as the parents were his buddy's. So seeing the parents hunt wasn't a option and the pup was to young for me to see hunt. He did have tow of his own dogs on site and they looked taken care of. What would most of you have done in this situation? I still have the pup and thus far he is coming along good in my eyes and a friend of the family who has been training and running coon dogs his whole life. I'm new to the sport and am loving it even though he hasn't gotten a coon yet. It is a sport and as everyone on here and other people I know have said, patience has been my best friend. LoL
